Emily Picon

Emily Picon, LCSW-C is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience treating children, teens and adults with a history of trauma and other mental health concerns. Emily’s previous career was in digital marketing, where she gained expertise in website analytics and financial planning and reporting. This background makes her well suited to her role as TRUE’s Board Treasurer.

 

Emily earned her Master's degree in Social Work from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, where she gained clinical experience, treating women with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. She saw the impact that trauma could have on children’s lives and became committed to trauma prevention and treatment.  She has continued her clinical training since graduating and values staying up to date with the latest advancements in her fields of specialization.

Why TRUE: 

Emily was born in Washington, DC and raised in the DC Metro area and feels passionately about increasing the community’s access to the life-changing therapies that TRUE Center will promote. She views mental health through a social justice lens, and is devoted to working with and for the people of DC to prevent and heal trauma.
