Dr. Jenna Calton is a licensed psychologist with over 9 years of experience providing individual and family therapy to youth and their caregivers. She has worked for and volunteered with nonprofit agencies in Gainesville, FL and Montgomery County, MD. In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Calton brings experience in business development and management. She is a founder and co-owner of a private practice, Maven Psychology Group, PC.
Dr. Calton earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from George Mason University. Dr. Calton completed her pre-doctoral internship at Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) in Washington, DC, and she completed postdoctoral work at CNMC’s Child Development Clinic and The Tree House Child Advocacy Center of Montgomery County, MD.
She has published scholarly research in peer-reviewed journals on a variety of topics, including posttraumatic stress and growth, social justice pedagogy, and intimate partner violence. Dr. Calton has served as an adjunct professor and clinical supervisor at George Mason University’s Center for Psychological Services since 2018.

Why TRUE:
Dr. Calton is passionate about social justice and trauma prevention. She is excited to help found TRUE Center to increase families’ access to trauma-focused care in the DMV area. Dr. Calton lived and worked in DC during graduate school, postdoctoral training, and as a young professional. Although she currently lives in Tampa, Florida, she loves DC and is excited to maintain her connection to the DC community that she loves through her work at TRUE Center.
