Almost Half of DC Children Have Experienced Trauma
Every child deserves equal access to treatment and prevention services that can best support their physical and emotional health. But while almost half of DC children have experienced trauma, most children who need mental health support after trauma don’t receive it – a gap that is even more pronounced for children of color.

TRUE Center provides evidence-based intervention and prevention services to children and families who have experienced trauma, as well as offers education and training to local professionals and community members.

We strengthen DC community resilience and help children and their families live fuller, healthier, and more integrated lives.
